A Conversation with Barbara Sommer Feigin & Nicolle Wallace

Last Tuesday night, more than 200 members of the Trevor community gathered on campus for a meaningful conversation in honor of Holocaust Remembrance Day. Author and Holocaust survivor Barbara Sommer Feigin P’80, P’84, P’84, GP’19, GP’21, GP’26 was introduced by current senior Max Kobre ‘26, before sharing reflections from her memoir, My American Dream: A Journey from Fascism to Freedom, followed by a thoughtful and engaging conversation moderated by Nicolle Wallace P’30, Host of “Deadline: White House.” 

The evening concluded with a reception and book signing, offering guests the opportunity to connect and reflect together. The program was well received and marked a powerful moment for our community, one that honored remembrance, resilience, and the importance of sharing stories across generations.

Barbara Feigin is a master storyteller and has been a sought-after speaker at numerous business, professional, academic, and community forums across the United States, Latin America, Europe, and Asia.  Her presentations have garnered acclaim and provided valuable insights to diverse audiences.

She is available to speak about her memoir, My American Dream: A Journey from Fascism to Freedom, to such audiences as schools and colleges, libraries, community groups/forums, Jewish organizations, and historical groups, among others. She offers a compelling account of her life, starting with her escape from Nazi Germany, and of the transformative power of pursuing one’s dreams. Her hope is to educate and inspire her audiences.
